GET TO KNOW ME
I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor. I completed my post-graduate studies at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP). The qualification I hold is the Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych). I am zealous about psychology and the neuroscience behind psychology itself.
As a Registered Counsellor I strive to provide a non-judgmental, warm, and supportive space for my clients. I am passionate about working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I use evidence-based techniques and tailor my approach to suit an individual. I do not believe one approach works for everybody as each person is unique and has different needs.
I currently work in private practice and have various affiliations with different service providers. I also work on-call in the Netcare emergency rooms at Unitas Hospital.
I am committed to the well-being of my clients. I engage in continuous learning as I believe the more I continue to learn the more effective I will be as a Registered Counsellor. My goal for all of my clients, is to become empowered and live a more meaningful life.
I have worked with:
Survivors of brain injury and their family members.
Children and teenagers who have experienced various types of abuse.
Emergency and trauma counselling in hospitals (mainly in the Netcare emergency room).
Developing and hosting workshops for children, teenagers, and young adults.
Conducting needs analysis.
